The September just end and it's gonna be my birthday in 6 days. My god how can time passes so fast!!I'm not even ready for my birthday . Ugh! Don't even feel like celebrating cuz it's my 21 birthday .IT'S TWEEENTY -ONE!!!( I heard that once you step in the twenties, time passes even faster, maybe the next thing I know, I'm already 25 =.=)

When I was younger, I heard another version whereby the beggar stole the chicken & subsequently realizes how amazing his wrapped in clay chicken was.. then proceeded to open a restaurant where he popularized his chicken.Anyway, at Ijok, they employ the traditional method of cooking beggar’s chicken, resulting in a tender succulent chicken which practically melts in your mouth.
There’s an oven at the back I believe where marinated chicken (or duck or pork or whatever) which has been wrapped in aluminum foil, paper, then clay is baked.
They then transport the baked chicken in a wheelbarrow to a man at the counter, who works at hacking off the clay and making the chicken look presentable.

Drooling...... drooling...... Yeah ! this was precisely what we were doing. Luckily it didn't take them too long to bring in the first dish which is the famous beggar's chicken. The aroma just burst out upon opening the foil. It was cooked with lot's of chinese herbs which is good. Chicken meat was tender as expected. It was marvelous, extremely delicious. Goes very well with white rice especially consumed with the broth or gravy.

The place is normally quite packed though so if you’re interested in heading there, bookings should be made prior to your visit.
Food was OK, service was fast, soup was a knockout! Our belly was over-filled. Everyone was happy. Something that suits 'once in a blue moon' theory. Pure delight. The only not so good is there's too much flies . We are having dinner with flies !!!!OMG!
